Walkergate welcomes back Durham Pride for 2025! The annual Pride parade returns this May Bank Holiday to celebrate the love and diversity of the city’s LGBTQ+ community with a rainbow procession through the streets.
We’re proud to have been supporters of Durham Pride UK since its inception in 2014. This year Walkergate will once again sponsor Durham’s Pride parade banner carried at the head of the parade.
Durham Pride UK’s celebration spans the last May Bank Holiday weekend. A free event marks the anniversary of the decriminalisation of LGBTQ+ people in the British Armed Forces on Saturday 24th May. Sunday 25th May will feature the main parade and ticketed event at The Sands. Family-friendly festivities, including the parade through the city centre, are scheduled from 12pm until 7pm (ages 12 and under free with a paying adult). The 18+ afterparty takes place in the VIP tent until 11pm.
Attendees of the Durham Pride Parade can enjoy all the amenities of Walkergate over the weekend, from the 24/7 secure car park with easy access to The Sands, to our selection of stylish bars and family restaurants where all are welcome to drink, dine and socialise.
