In just a few short weeks, Durham will host Lumiere, the biennial light festival where thousands of visitors enjoy captivating light installations across the city. One of the many things that makes Lumiere so unique is the small army of local volunteers who help bring light to the city.
Hot drinks at The Bishops Mill
This year, by way of thanks, The Bishops’ Mill is offering FREE tea and coffee to the pink tabard-wearing volunteers during the four evenings of Lumiere, between 3:00pm and 11:00pm.
To any volunteer wishing to take advantage of this offer, visit The Bishops’ Mill at Walkergate during your shift wearing your pink tabard. A paper takeaway cup will be given to you by the Bishops’ Mill team so you can enjoy a warming hot beverage from their drinks machine.
What is Lumiere?
Lumiere is one of the UK’s largest light festivals, which will run over four nights from 16 -19 November 2023. Walkergate is a festival sponsor and will play host to several installations during Lumiere 23.
