The Bishops’ Mill here at Walkergate is hosting a week-long Burns event, celebrating the life and poetry of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Burns’ week takes place from Monday 22nd – Sunday 28th January, with Burns’ Night itself on Wednesday 25 January.
To mark the occasion, The Bishops’ Mill will be serving two special meals: Scottish haggis, neeps and tatties, as well as the Caledonian burger, two 3oz beef patties, with haggis and whisky sauce, served with chips and six beer-battered onion rings.
Among the drinks choices for the Burns’ week meal deals is a selection of Scottish drinks for customers to enjoy. On offer is Cairngorm Nessie’s Monster Mash (4.1% ABV), a predominantly malty, lightly hopped beer, served especially for the event, as well as Scottish gins, whiskies and beer.
These include two Scottish single-malt whiskies, Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie, as well as The Famous Grouse and Bell’s whisky, Scotland’s BrewDog Elvis Juice and Hazy Jane craft beers, as well as Scottish gins Hendrick’s Gin and Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger liqueur.
Customers taking part in Dry January® can also enjoy BrewDog’s Punk AF (0.5% ABV), the low-alcohol beer from the Ellon-based brewery.
This Burns’ week event is a great opportunity for customers to sample some traditional Scottish food and drinks and to celebrate for longer than just the evening of 25 January itself!
