Durham Pride 2023 will be held on the last bank holiday weekend in May 2023. This year, Durham Pride is celebrating their 10-year anniversary and the event is set to return bigger and better than previous years to highlight the need for more LGBT+ inclusiveness, equality and diversity.
The weekend will see Pride festivities taking place from Thursday 25th May until Monday 29th May with the main parade starting at Durham Cathedral on Sunday 28th May and ending at Sands Field where a ticketed staged event will continue on the field.
The main stage party will be hosted by local drag queen royalty, Miss Tess Tickle and will see performances on the main stage by former Girls Aloud singer, Nadine Coyle, Jaymi Hensley (Union J), Karen Parry and many more.
At Walkergate, we believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and equality. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. For another year running, Walkergate is honoured to play a part in this celebration by serving as an official sponsor of the Durham Pride Parade to further demonstrate our support for the LGBT+ community and our commitment to building a more inclusive society.
We’re also pleased to announce that Bohemia Ballpit & Bar, here at Walkergate, has been confirmed as this year’s official after party venue with some very special entertainment. As a Durham Pride endorsed venue, Bohemia is a safe space for all of those attending and is wheelchair accessible via the lifts at Walkergate. The after show will begin from 7pm and will operate a pay on the door on a what you can afford basis. VIP wristbands can queue jump until 7.30pm. The venue will revert to HUSH after 11pm and people are welcome to stay and enjoy their night.
